Newton Stewart Walking Festival

Thank you for your interest in Newton Stewart Walking Festival. Galloway is a wonderfully unspoilt landscape with an endless variety of routes for walkers to enjoy. We offer a programme of around 30 routes over 7 days, with transport and guides included, as well as a programme of evening social events.

Update 21 April 2026: Spaces still available

Although we have had lots of bookings, we still have some availability across a number of our walks.

We have added some extra spaces to the following walks, which were previously closed to new bookings:

  • Walk 4-3 Supper walk: Bruces Stone to Glentrool (moderate)
  • Walk 4-4 Supper walk: Bruces stone to Glentrool (easy)
  • Walk 7-2 Kirk, Castle and Coast

In addition, we have a number of spaces available to book on the following walks:

  • Walk 2-2 Into solitude: Millfore
  • Walk 3-1 Bagger's delight: Shalloch on Minnoch
  • Walk 4-1 Game on: Mochrum Fell
  • Walk 4-2 Wild west coast to Portpatrick
  • Walk 5-1 KIng of the gypsies
  • Walk 5-2 Fells, woods and lochs
  • Walk 6-1 Round the lochs
  • Walk 7-1 Into the past: Cairnsmore of Carsphairn

Finally, some other walks have the odd one or two spaces available, so you might be lucky and secure the last spaces on those routes.

When you book online you will receive a confirmation of your payment from Paypal. Please accept this as confirmation of the walks you are booked on.
