** SORRY THIS WALK IS FULLY BOOKED. CONTACT US TO BE ADDED TO THE RESERVE LIST ** Day 3 of the Ring of Fire challenge is a challenging route which uses the Awful Hand range to capture no fewer than two Corbetts and five Donalds in a day which will last long in the memory.
Starting on the forest track from the Stinchar Bridge we weave our way onto Sheil Hill, gaining height steadily to reach the Corbett of Shalloch on Minnoch (768 metres). Tarfessock Hill is followed by Kirriereoch and onto the Little Spear with a steep ascent onto the highest summit in Galloway, the Merrick at 843 metres. The descent follows the tourist path down to Loch Trool by via Benyellary (719 metres).
Only those with good hill experience and high levels of fitness should consider this walk.
